Alaskan for Business

Alaskan for Business

A team of AI dogs for a company, in the browser and on iPhone. They do the work under your rules, ask only about what you choose, and keep everything on the record.

Alaskan for Business gives a company a sled team: a lead dog, the chief of staff, and specialist dogs for the inbox, outbound, recruiting, finance, support and the website. You talk to them like coworkers, on the web at alaskan.ai or in the iPhone app.

Each dog has:

  • a job ("Support: replies, refunds within limits"),
  • its own rules: what it may just do, what it must ask first, and what it must never do (Rules),
  • its routines (a support queue sweep every weekday at 9:00),
  • the apps it may use (Gmail, HubSpot, Stripe, Slack and so on),
  • a screen on the company's computer (The company computer).

The dogs do the work. Each one works under three lists of rules you set: what it may just do, what to ask first, and what it must never do (Rules). The team templates start them asking about things like spending money, messages that leave the company and anything that can't be undone; you move things to Just do as you come to trust them. What they ask about comes to Decide as a card with numbered options (Decide), and Today shows how many things need you. Everything they do, and every decision, goes into the Ledger with the dog's reasoning, the evidence, who decided and, later, how it turned out (The Ledger).

The starting team

The Starter team template:

Dog Job Breed
Sitka Chief of Staff: runs the team, owns the main screen Alaskan Malamute
Juneau Inbox: triage, drafts, archive Alaskan Klee Kai
Kodiak Outbound: prospects, intros, follow-ups Alaskan Husky
Nome Recruiting: shortlists, scheduling Alaskan Husky
Denali Finance: invoices, receipts, close Alaskan Klee Kai
Kenai Support: replies, refunds within limits Alaskan Klee Kai
Yukon Website and SEO: pages, posts, reports Alaskan Husky

Other templates start a dental clinic front desk or an agency outbound team. Any dog from any template can be hired onto your team, up to 12.

What a company gets

  • everyone at the company,
  • up to 12 dogs,
  • one company computer,
  • AI and tool usage within a fair-use allowance,
  • connectors to your apps,
  • the Ledger and its export,
  • a setup with the lead dog.

A workspace starts as a trial. Sign up to start one.

You own what the team does. The Ledger exports as CSV at any time, and templates are plain JSON you can take anywhere.

On the web and on iPhone

You sign up and work in the browser at alaskan.ai. The app is quiet on purpose: the dogs do the jobs, and it asks you only for what needs a person. There are four places:

  • Today answers one question, "does anything need me?": how many things need you (or "Nothing needs you"), about how long they'll take, and Start. Below that, what the team finished since yesterday, one plain sentence per dog, and one line about what's running now.
  • Decide shows one card at a time, in focus: the question, the facts and the numbered options. The dog's reasoning is behind "Why?", and the evidence and thread are behind "Details".
  • Team: the dogs, each with its job and one line on what it's doing. A dog's page is a chat with it; its rules, routines and record are in Details.
  • Records: the Ledger, Sessions (each job and what came of it) and Scheduled (what runs when).

Search (⌘K) jumps anywhere. Use it on your iPhone, Templates and Settings are in the workspace's menu.

The iPhone app is an option. Use it on your iPhone, in the workspace's menu, shows a code; type it in the app (Settings → Alaskan on the web → Link a browser) and the iPhone joins the workspace as a member, with a pinned Decide chat holding the same cards and the company's dogs as chats. Decide something on the web and the phone shows it decided, and the other way round.

Signing in

There are no passwords. You sign in on the web with your email: a link, or the 6-digit code in the same email. Each person's iPhone joins with a code from the web. If you started on the Alaskan iPhone app, a browser can be signed in as your phone with a code instead. Signed-in browsers are listed in Settings and can be signed out there.
